How Much Does Sod Replacement Actually Cost?
St. Augustine sod runs from $0.95 per square foot installed. Bahia sod runs from $0.70 per square foot installed. Soil prep and grading are included in both, and larger areas of 2,000 square feet or more get a written estimate based on the actual site.
Available across all 40 of our Central Florida service areas, in Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties.
What Drives the Price
Sod that goes in without proper soil prep and grading often fails within the first season, the same problem it was replacing, just more expensive the second time. Knowing the real per-square-foot cost up front, and what's included in it, is the difference between a lawn that takes root and one that needs redoing.
How We Quote It
We prep and grade the soil before laying sod, not after, install St. Augustine or Bahia depending on your yard's sun and use, and walk you through proper watering for the first two weeks so the roots actually establish. Large-area jobs get an on-site written estimate before anything is ordered.
Services That Handle This
Common Questions
St. Augustine runs from $0.95 per square foot installed and is the more common choice for a lush, shade-tolerant lawn. Bahia runs from $0.70 per square foot installed and holds up well in full sun with less water, at a lower cost.
Yes. Soil prep and grading are included in the per-square-foot price, since sod laid on unprepped soil is far more likely to fail.
New sod needs consistent watering for the first two weeks while it roots, and light foot traffic is generally fine after that, but we'll give you specific guidance for your yard when we install it.
